“Herbalism is based on relationships - between plant and person, between plant and planet, and hence between person and planet. Using herbs in the healing process means taking part in a an ecological cycle. This offers us the opportunity to be consciously involved in the living, vital world of which we are part.”

— David Hoffmann, Medical Herbalist, Author

What to expect during a session

A Healing Experience Made for You

Herbal medicine is more than a remedy - it is a return to your body’s wisdom.

My approach combines traditional herbal medicine, clinical research, and personalized care to support your unique body, mind, spirit, and lifestyle. My work is deeply informed by integrative physicians, herbalists, and healers I have had the privilege of studying and/or working with, including David Hoffmann, Matthew Wood, Andrew Weil, M.D., Aviva Romm, M.D., Dr. Vasant Lad, and Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés.

Over the past two decades, I have helped clients address a wide spectrum of health needs — from extreme burnout and fertility support to sleep issues, hormonal balance, digestive health, and immune resilience. Each session is an invitation to slow down, listen inwardly, and reconnect with the plants as allies for your healing.

Step 1: Deep Listening & Discovery

We begin with a 90-minute consultation where we explore your health history, current concerns, and the ways your daily rhythms either nourish or deplete you.

An important part of this intake is connecting with your ancestral lineage - the foods your ancestors ate, the plants they used as medicine, and the cultural wisdom that flows through your family line. This ancestral perspective becomes part of your personalized plan, offering a sense of belonging and continuity in your healing journey.

Step 2: Your Personalized Botanical Medicine Plan

Your plan may include teas to restore sleep, tinctures to bring calm, supplements for hormonal balance, or rituals that reconnect you with the earth. Every element is chosen for your body, your life, and your goals.

I weave together the wisdom of Western herbal medicine and Ayurvedic diagnostics with the latest clinical research, ensuring your plan is safe, effective, and deeply tailored to you.

For those who wish, I also integrate ritual and spiritual practices such as plant meditations, journaling, guided visualizations, or walks in nature. These practices can anchor your healing in both body and spirit, giving you tools to move forward with greater clarity and connection.

Step 3: Ongoing Care & Guidance

Healing is not a quick fix, it is a journey. I walk alongside you, adjusting your formulas and lifestyle recommendations as your body changes and your vitality grows.

Follow-up sessions are 45–60 minutes, allowing us to refine your formulas and deepen your practices.

Most clients work with me for 6 months to 1 year, though some have continued our work together for over 18 years.

This continuity creates a steady container for growth, transformation, and long-term wellness.

FAQs

  • Western Herbalism is the practice of using plants — roots, leaves, flowers, and seeds — to support health and restore balance. Rooted in European, Mediterranean, and North American traditions, it blends folklore with modern clinical research. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach, but a living system of healing that recognizes the unique story of each person and how plants can be their allies.

  • Ayurveda is the ancient medical system of India, developed over thousands of years. It is based on the principle of balance — between body, mind, and spirit — and teaches that health depends on harmony with our inner constitution and the rhythms of the natural world. Herbs, diet, lifestyle, and mindfulness practices all play essential roles in this holistic approach.

  • In herbal medicine, there is no “standard” body. Each of us has a constitution — a unique way our body holds energy, responds to stress, digests food, and adapts to the environment. During a session, I look at patterns: Are you naturally warm or cool? Dry or damp? Quick-moving or steady? These qualities help me select herbs that balance your individual needs, rather than relying on generic formulas.

  • Your first consultation lasts about 90 minutes. This time allows us to explore your full health history, current concerns, and lifestyle, so I can truly understand your needs before creating a personalized herbal plan.

  • Healing is a process, and every body responds differently. Some people notice changes within a few weeks — improved sleep, calmer digestion, more energy. For deeper or long-standing conditions, it may take several months of steady support to see lasting results. Together, we will track your progress and make adjustments as needed.

  • I have been practicing herbal medicine since 2000, and my training blends formal study, clinical practice, and traditional knowledge. I have a clinical herbalist certificate from The California School of Herbal Studies, and trained at the Ayurvedic Institute for reproductive health and Ayurvedic pulse. My teachers include Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Aviva Romm, Dr. Vasant Lad, David Hoffmann, and Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés, among others. I founded the Herbal Anthropology Project 501(c)3 which perserves and protects Indigenous knowledge around the glove. I owned and directed The Scarlet Sage Herb Co. in San Francisco, and teach clinical herbalists in my school, Land of Verse. I currently serve as Director of Operations at the Beneficial Plant Research Association (BPRA), working globally on plant preservation and research.

  • The first consultation is $295, which includes a 90-minute deep dive into your health story and a personalized herbal plan. Herbal remedies (teas, tinctures, or supplements) are an additional cost depending on your needs.

  • Depending on your situation, I offer a sliding scale for those who may not be able to afford the full consultation fee by application. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss options.
